The Chinese created a dairy-based iced cream round 200 B.C.. Western Europeans would not discover ice cream for approximately two-thousand more years, which says quite a lot.

In fact, there was a long period of European history, when all ice cream knowledge and technology was lost, and instead the term referred to the process of eating live amphibians.
